[ This is fine, Will's just going to lay face down on the floor of his bedroom for a few minutes. He goes home for one night to double check on everything back where he ostensibly lives, and this is what he gets. ]
[ The wave of horrified shame that hits at "i thought you were hallucinating", like it's a twelve year old's job to keep track of Will's mental shortcomings, is enough to send the Will Graham of a year ago staying home and not leaving for a few days. But the Will Graham of twelve months solid spent in Deerington, befriending more people than he ever got close to back home, just sighs. ]

i thought maybe i'd give everyone a break from me and toast for tonight. i'm coming back tomorrow morning
[will is quiet for a moment, absently scrolling up and down, through this conversation and their past one. he almost doesn't say it, but he wants to. he really wants to.
finally, after a looong moment:] i don't want a break. i don't think the others do. it's not right. without you.
[ oh, okay, Will's just going to listen to his heart shatter and heal itself on endless, looping repeat. That's fine.
He types and then deletes 'are you asking me to come back?' because he can't just demand that a child reassure him that he's wanted...but that's also exactly, 100% what Will wants. ]
there's something about that apartment. or maybe just the people in it. i'll be back in about an hour, then. just [ having a quiet but strangely relieving mental breakdown at home first ] grabbing clothes to bring back over
[the sigh of relief that will lets out is probably audible throughout the entire apartment. he snuggles back down into his bed and pulls the covers over his head.]
yeah. it's lonely when people are missing. even cranky ones.
i took one of your sweatshirts that you left behind. is that okay?
